Exploring outdoor education and
challenge experiences
4-H offers a variety of summer experiences. See the 4-H section below, as well as programs offered by other youth serving organizations. Questions? Call Pamela Roberts, 4-H coordinator, at 379-5610 ext. 207 to join a 4-H summer opportunity today!
4-H Summer Programs
4-H Forestry Camp is held at the beginning of July for 2 weeks each summer. Learn forest stewardship, leave no trace hiking, habitat management, and outdoor survival skills. This camp is FREE for youths in grades K-8 and is held at the Quilcene Community Center from 9 am-3 pm. Learn More
The WSU 4-H Gibbs Lake Park Challenge Course is an experiential education program aimed at fostering team development and personal growth. Using outdoor learning activities, participants are provided with the opportunity to strengthen relationships, improve communication, resolve conflicts and develop leadership. Learn More
Cougar Quest is a summer academic camp on the campus of Washington State University designed especially for young people entering grades 7 through 12 in the fall of 2006. Your days will be filled with hands-on activities led by world class Washington State University faculty. Learn More
Olympic Mountain Expeditions is a summer hiking program led by Scott Brinton, 4-H leader. Scott teaches skills related to leave no trace hiking, outdoor survival, and habitat conservation. Reach Scott at ospreyscott@hotmail.com.
Quilcene Ranger Corps is a trail building program for youths ages 13-16. Ranger Corps crews work two-days-a-week shifts throughout the summer and are paid a volunteer stipend that is doubled if the youth finishes the season. Ranger Corps is offered in collaboration with the Pacific NW Trail Association.
Sky Program is a trail building program for youths ages 16-20. Sky crews work shifts throughout the summer, including some overnight mountain hiking trips, and are paid a volunteer stipend. Sky Program is offered in collaboration with the Pacific NW Trail Association.
Sunfield Farm is a sustainable agriculture program located in Chimacum Valley. Sunfield employs teen interns in the summer to work on the farm and to learn about sustainable agricultural practices.

Kale Forest Farm Camp is an opportunity to immerse your child in an organic farming and gardening environment that allows for creative play and active observation within nature.

SeedSpring Summer Camp
Summer is approaching fast and I just wanted to fill you in on SeedSpring's plans for this summer!
Camp Sessions are:
- June 18-20.
- July 28 - Aug. 1.
- Aug. 31 - Sept. 3.
All the programs are day camps.
